Join us, for a Fashion Law Masterclass hosted at the distinguished Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design, London.  Fashion, Law & Business are providing up to 15 students the opportunity to learn from leading legal experts in fashion and luxury.

This one-day intensive masterclass will take you through the features of fashion law and offer a practical understanding of the law of intellectual property, including a straightforward introduction to copyright, trademark and design rights, as it applies to the business of fashion. It will also explore the essential legal issues faced by a fashion business as it grows from a start-up to luxury fashion phase.

Purpose:

This specialist fashion law masterclass is intended to equip you with an in-depth understanding of the commercial side of fashion creativity - including how to protect it. You will learn the law as it relates to the management, protection and exploitation of your fashion creativity and how to think through legal issues for fashion business.

Masterclass Content:

The masterclass workshop is designed to connect fashion creatives and industry professionals more deeply to the commercial and legal topics that affect the day to day running of a fashion business. This fashion law masterclass will cover areas of expertise that are critical to a young fashion brand (intellectual property; trademark, design rights - including contracts). As well as key legal areas that can be vital for designers in the early stages of launching their careers.

For those that want to know more about the business and legal side of the fashion industry, this workshop is suited to designer brands building a business, designers looking to protect their designs, and fashion professionals seeking to enhance their commercial legal awareness of the fashion industry.

Learn the legal tools necessary for growing and protecting your fashion brand.

Registration:

There are no formal entry requirements for the masterclass, but it is designed to support designers, emerging brands, students and fashion professionals/junior lawyers. Applicants will be asked to enroll in order to demonstrate their suitability for entry on the masterclass, with a short personal statement that indicates what they hope to achieve from attending it. Successful applicants will be notified by email toward the end of May.
