The role:
Reporting directly to the Head of Legal (Corporate / Commercial), you will enjoy a broad corporate role, delivering high-quality legal advice and services. Your principal business stakeholder will be the Corporate Development team who are based in London and have a wide M&A remit, covering multiple jurisdictions and types of transactions.
This is a highly visible and exciting role in a well regarded and dynamic team. This role will be ideal for a senior corporate lawyer looking to branch out in-house into a more business-focused role. In addition to private M&A, the role will encompass giving advice predominantly on all types of general corporate matters including working alongside the Strategy and Innovation team (which encompasses the “Dream Assembly Incubator Programme”) in the London office on outward investments, as well as international stakeholders on new corporate opportunities such as joint venture partnerships.
What you’ll do:
You will work on all corporate matters, including but not limited to:
Global M&A transactions
integration of new business acquisitions
joint ventures
outward investments including by way of subscription for convertible loan notes and/or shares
business partnering the “Dream Assembly Incubator Programme”
public company compliance and general corporate work
Who you are:
You are an English or US law qualified lawyer with 5-6 years’ PQE as a corporate lawyer
You have excellent private practice training and experience from a top tier law firm
You ideally have some prior in-house exposure, perhaps in the form of a client secondment
You possess excellent communication, negotiating and drafting skills
You have a strong work ethic and attention to detail
You are passionate about fast-moving consumer-led businesses
You are a team player who is driven, forward-thinking, robust, innovative and agile, with commercial acumen
