As Interim legal counsel role based in our London office you will report to the CFO/COO, EMEA with a dotted line to the General Counsel in the US. This is a commercial generalist role responsible for all legal matters affecting Michael Kors’ operations throughout Europe and the Middle East.
Major responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Draft and negotiate general commercial contracts including IT agreements, E-Commerce agreements, PR and marketing agreements, supply chain agreements, distribution agreements and shop-in-shop/concession agreements
Draft and negotiate real estate lease agreements, amendments, subleases, assignments and all other pertinent real estate documentation.
Assist Human Resources team to manage outside counsel on a broad range of employment issues, including, employee relations; discipline and terminations; internal investigations; litigation and employee privacy matters
Provide advice and training and assist with enquiries relating to all European country-specific legal and compliance matters, including with respect to privacy, promotions and sweepstakes, price advertising (including sale periods and outlet store pricing and inventory issues), trade licenses and other legal issues affecting pan-European wholesalers and retailers such as Michael Kors
Manage outside counsel in all European litigation and governmental and administrative enforcement actions
Manage EU corporate paralegal based in Lugano office

U.K. qualified solicitor with 2-6 years PQE experience at a recognized law firm or as in-house counsel
Experience in general commercial law, experience in legal issues facing European retailers a plus
Proficient in English (both verbal and written)
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and thrive in a fast paced environment
